Twinning
The primary objective of this page is the creation of a collaboration, in the spirit of friendship and brotherhood among peoples, for overcoming territorial, cultural and historical barriers, for the diffusion and consolidation of cooperation relationships, in compliance with specificities of each.
We inaugurate this page with the collaborative relationship between Aps Proloco San Possidonio and the Twinning Committee Association of Vinay

DISCOVER VINAY
The village of Vinay, known for its walnut culture, stretches between the steep buttresses of the Vercors and the gentle, rolling hills of the Chambarans, along the Isère valley. Here the cultivation of the delicious walnut has become very important, to the point that the valley has turned into an immense orchard.
The first tribe that has left a trace is that of the Allobroges. They were Celts who came from the north of Gaul. Grenoble was called Cularo and Vinay, Ventia. Around -100 BC the Roman legions defeated the Allobrogi. Ventia became Vinaycum and was transformed into a strategic place thanks to its geographical configuration.
After the successive occupations - initially by the Burgundians of Germany and later by the Saracens - the region became the land of the Dauphiné.
Vinay found its final name in 1557. It was a prosperous country administered by four consuls elected by the general assembly of the three orders (nobility, clergy and third estate).
The community then had great autonomy. The people were often consulted. From 1668 to 1788 a permanent council - formed by a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 15 elected - decided on municipal affairs. On June 22, 1788, the three orders gathered under the covered market appointed a delegate to represent them at the assembly of Vizille on July 20, 1788. The Revolution had begun!
In 1864, the railway arrived in Vinay (the Paris - Lyon - Marseille Company). Louis-Prudent Brun Faulquier had the castle of Montvinay built in 1876 and the hospital in 1893. Among the events of this period, it should not be forgotten that a sum of money was donated, the interests of which will secure the dowry to a deserving girl of the country. This gesture was inspired by a Napoleon decree of 1810 which stipulated that a “Rosière”, that is a virtuous girl, who married a military veteran would receive a dowry.
The twentieth century began with the arrival of electricity: the hydraulic energy of the Tréry stream was transformed into electricity. The "white coal" was born.
In 1907, the Trellins suspension bridge made it possible to connect the two banks of the Isère and to effectively replace the old and piriculous "rope boats". A new wider and safer bridge was inaugurated in 1986.

12 people from San Possidonio took part in the project for the dissemination of gastronomic and local products by us. (Fried dumplings / cured meats / lambrusco). Collaboration in the French exhibition organized by the local administration in collaboration with the local Twinning Committee on the end of the 1st World War with 7 panels by prof. Montella and bilingual brochure explaining the situation at the time in the province of Modena. The exhibition of prof. Complete Motella was then set up in San Possidonio from 8 December to 6 January 2019 in the town hall with the presence of some panels of the French exhibition always with bilingual brochures.
